Today, David is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Communications and Media Arts with a minor in Political Science at Montclair State University, on track to graduate in 2024.
While he studied his craft at Montclair State University, David spent one year in marketing as the Chief Creative Director for AnythingButCommons, a New Jersey-based collectibles and trading cards company. In this role, David took everything he learned from his time as a video intern at Hip New Jersey, and transformed the AnythingButCommons brand, by successfully overseeing the strategy, creation, and execution of multimedia content throughout various social channels, including TikTok, Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.
David received an associate’s in Television and Radio Production from the County College of Morris, and is currently finishing his bachelor’s.
David lives in New Jersey with his wife Pauline and their two cats Sheckles and Loke. When he is not being overly critical of the way professional wrestling is presented on television, he can be found hiking, listening to his favorite rock bands, and camping with his wife in New Jersey’s forests.
Round2Detailing
For this project, the client asked for a video and photo package that showcased their process when detailing cars, but needed me to capture still images and video without impeding their ability to service the car.
In order to accomplish this, I needed to work quickly and efficiently, while still meeting the expectations and standards I set for both myself and the client. I shot using a Canon T5i DSLR camera and both a monopod. This enabled me to steadily capture still images, while allowing me the maneuverability to keep up with the client while maintaining stability.
Mount Olive A Great Place to Live
During my fall semester at the County College of Morris, we were commissioned by the township of Mount Olive, NJ to create a promotional video that highlighted the town and would motivate potential residents to relocate there.
During that semester, conflicts occurred involving communication, scheduling, and technical errors. In order to ensure we met the client's vision, and prevent any further miscommunication, we organized daily check-ins via email with our liaison - the mayor's assistant. She also provided us with the mayor and police chief's monthly schedule in order to create dedicated shoot days where we could record interviews and shoot b-roll without risk of interruption.
Once we hit the post-production date, we found that the editing facility the school provided did not support the latest version of Adobe Premiere. Rather than starting from scratch and solely working on the older software, we decided to use that software to choose what footage we would use for the final product, while simultaneously editing on the updated software, in order to increase our efficiency. This allowed our director to decide what footage would be used, while enabling me to edit swiftly and deliver our project in a timely manner.
